Could you prolong the life of a loved one long enough for the ambulance to arrive if he or she had sustained a severe laceration or other medical emergency?
While most Americans are comfortable dealing with the cuts and scrapes of everyday life, and tens of thousands have learned the Heimlich maneuver or CPR, most individuals would be a bit less comfortable dealing with severe, life-threatening injuries or illnesses when seconds count and EMS personnel and the emergency room are minutes (or longer) away.
In this course, you will learn the proper way to access and assess a patient, but we also cover in great detail the proper way to deal with significant issues like serious bleeding, chest injuries, a compromised airway, spinal injuries, broken bones and more.

CONTROL THE BLEED

Building on the principals of STOP THE BLEED® and going deeper into the hands on and mental side of traumatic bleeding control, our Control the Bleed is a fan favorite.
The person next to a bleeding victim may very well be the one who’s most likely to save him or her from bleeding to death. By learning how to Control the Bleed, you’ll gain the ability to recognize life-threatening bleeding and act quickly and effectively to control it once you learn three quick techniques.
This isnt a video module. Our instructors will teach you live and in person, using training materials specially developed to teach bleeding control techniques, including simulated bleeding limbs.
You’ll learn the techniques to help save a life before someone bleeds out such as - How to to effectively apply pressure to a wound; How to pack a wound to control bleeding; How to correctly apply a tourniquet; and How to deal with stress under pressure. These techniques will empower you to assist in an emergency and potentially save a life.
